It was that special time of the month and we thought it be fun to try something new. So we decided to brew up a storm in the kitchen with a never-before-tried recipe.
On the menu? Toasted Almond Chicken in Gravy Sauce.
It was a TOTAL disaster. A TOTAL disaster I say. I have no idea where we went wrong. All I know is that it tasted nasty. I can still taste the gravy sauce gone wrong. Ech.
The worst thing was we had guests coming over for dinner! <panic mode: on> The boyf’s closest friends were on their way and we couldn’t serve them what we had, they’d be scarred for life!
We had to think and act quickly if we wanted to save ourselves. I took out the most basic ingredients I could think of and created a teriyaki-taste-a-like sauce. The outcome was great. Or so I think. hehe It was sweet, spicy and it had that smoky flavor to it.

On the menu? Almond Teriyaki Chicken.
Our guests more or less liked it. I honestly couldn’t tell if they were being honest or just trying to be polite. However, the boyf and I did. So much for love thy own. hehe
Endless talks, laughter, chisssmmsss and more laughter followed dinner and a mini pictorial shortly after.
Overall, it was a unique and fun experience. It was a new way of celebrating for us. We didn’t have any quality time alone but spending it with friends made up for it big time.

*Special thanks to George and Leng for coming over and keeping mum about their real opinions about the dish. ^_^ hehe
