MB’s Tavern, a pizza place that has made a name for itself without the use of any ads. It was simply by word of mouth.

We had fun playing and keeping track of the score.
One slyly smiles when he/she can shoot; the other sulks.
One holds his/her chin high, wearing a smug look only to have it turn into a mean frown when the other scores.
One rubs it in the other’s face; the other frowns and squirms.

It went on for more than 2 hours. It was heaps of fun, tons of laughter and it was just so carefree.

We both have skills although boyfie would like to claim he is better. Who is he kidding? I will gladly rise up to his challenge anytime. (smug)

Welcome to the Ice Age

In an effort to make amends and cheer me up, boyfie treated me to a movie. It was sweet because he regards movies as a must only if it’s a long-awaited blockbuster. For everything else, there are the ever cheap DVDs.

It was a feel-good movie that tickles the child in you and gives you loads of laughter. A must-see if you want to get rid of your problems temporarily.

“Buck: Are you ready for adventure?
Crash, Eddie: Yes, sir!
Buck: For danger?
Crash, Eddie: Yes, sir!
Buck: For death?
Eddie: Uhh, can you repeat the question?”

Thanks much much nyor! (hug) (hug)

B is for BORACAY

BORACAY: EVERY ROMANTIC’S DREAM GETAWAY

Boracay is a must-visit place in the Philippines. We couldn’t wait to discover and find out for ourselves the secret that this place holds – secret that keeps people coming back for more. Together with Mona and Irah, we finally had our chance.

The arrival:

The ride from Kalibo to Caticlan was not a good one. It was a very long and winding road. The rain greeted us as we made our way to Station 2 and had us stuck inside our hotel which took us 15-20 minutes of walking to find.

Clad in our swimming attires and decided that we shouldn’t let the rain stop us from enjoying, we made our way to the beach. The beach was magnificent. The vast stretch of fine, white sand and the angry waves that were coming in gave it that rowdy yet peaceful look. It probably wasn’t Boracay’s best but it was beautiful.

The first night:

We went out to dinner and commenced the drinking session at one of their famous beach front bars. People from all walks of life filled the place, giving you sort of a view of the world. It was a night for chilling and relaxing. No heavy dancing and no excessive drinking.

It was only right for we needed all our strength and courage for what awaited us the next day.

Kylie turns 25

A little past 12:

Boyfie just called. Mama Bear, Papa Bear and my sister barged in, dancing and singing the birthday song thus I had to cut Boyfie off. Boyfie called up again after the family greeting. All of a sudden, my sister shrieked and came running to my room. Ack! Boyfie was right outside our house, holding a cupcake with a candle all lit up and this pretty green balloon that had “Happy Birthday” written all over it.

There we were: Boyfie, my sister and I, eating ice cream, chips and the cupcake in the middle of the night. A sight to behold.

July 03, 10am:

Break time in the office. I was busy tinkering with my excel sheet because the figures didn’t add up. I hear cheers, I hear laughter, I hear the familiar teasing tones. And there he was, bringing 5 more balloons and 1 box of brownies. *sigh* The whole office sang complete with the hoots and the woots.

July 03, 7pm:

The place was La Tegola at Ayala Terraces. There we were: Papa Bear, Mama Bear, Boyfie and me. Contrary to what I feared, there was no dead air, no uncomfortable silence. It was a delightful dinner and all the more special because boyfie and papa bear bonded over things I cannot say because I do not what they were (busy mn mi ug picture2x ni mother dear).

Waited up for Papa bear who had to leave after dinner for a business meeting and my sister who was at work. They caught up with us at Starbucks and we bonded while enjoying over-priced drinks.

I felt special.
I felt important.
I felt remembered. And it was all because of him.

Surprised? Yes.
Happy? Very.
Contented? Beyond words.
In love? An understatement.

I love love love you boyfie. :)

To unemployment and beyond

Our company’s status has just gone from shaky to almost non-existent. It recently announced that it’s closing for good. What now? The questions start coming in, wrapped in confusion, sealed with doubt.

The operation of the business will still continue but in a different set up this time. The current company will close and the finances will be handled by an offshore company and they’re offering all of us to do work on a work-from-home basis. With this, our status changed to unemployed, technically.

I’ve listed the advantages and disadvantages to better understand the reality of the situation:

PROs:
1. No more waking up early in the morning. Now, we can just wake up and get right to work — without even taking a bath! ^_^
2. We get a separation pay: 1 month per year of service. Yeah!
3. We get to bring our office PC home and get to own it after a year.
4. We cut down on gasoline consumption and fare.
5. No more daily visits to the malls.
6. We can watch TV while working.
7. We can…(think)..(think)..I think that’s about it.hehe

CONs:
1. We have to pay for the electricity and net connection.
2. We will be able to get our separation pay after a year unless we resign. (dull)
3. If the computer breaks down, we have to pay for it. Great.
4. We will eventually get bored, having no one to talk to and no personal interaction. Camaraderie will eventually slip into oblivion.
5. No more gossips, spur-of-the-moment chitchats and casual banters and laughs. So much for our social skills.
6. No more daily visits to the malls. :(
7. No more boyfie.
8. No more boyfie.
9. No more boyfie.

Need I say more?

“Hi, we’re Bambi and Kylie and we’re unemployed.”
