Yet another great way to start the month right. Girfie and I ate dinner at AA’s BBq, but we had Sizzling Dory and Calamares. After a tummy-full meal we’re about to go home when Hippo had a difficulty starting up, but after 2 tries he was back. So I walked girlfie home and went back to check out Hippo and leave.
Then the adventure begins.
Hippo didn’t start, after several tries, still not responding. I checked the battery clamps because sometimes molds cling on it and I also checked each tension wire if they’re fully attached. Several minutes pass by girlfie’s dAd drove off and asked what went wrong so I answered that Hippo is having difficulties starting up and I’m checking the battery clamps. I followed them to their house to ask for water and flashlight, and hurried back to do the trick. Still, Hippo’s not responding.
Few minutes later, I was surprised to see girlfie’s dAd approaching and helped me figure out the problem. We discussed that the culprit may be the Starter or the Battery and the best solution is to push Hippo to start. I was really touched because I couldn’t believe that girlfie’s dAd went back to help and check on me. Thank you soooo much sir! Hehe
Plan A (Battery Clamps, Tension Wires) didn’t work well so my Plan B was to travel and get my mechanic friends. I waited for them in their shop and after 20 minutes or so they arrived. When we got back, they said that it is best to push Hippo down the road to start so that’s what we did. Unfortunately, Mechanic-A wasn’t prepared so he reached the end of the road without starting. While Mechanic-B was looking for a spare battery in the area, Mechanic-A and I were pushing Hippo up the hill so we can do it for the last time. Being a small car, Hippo is supposedly light but since he is standing on a muddy hill, we only pushed him up about 12meters, so we waited for Mechanic-A. He arrived with a spare battery, and luckily Hippo started again. So we drove off, paid the spare battery owner Php50, and laughed about what experience we had.
Hippo will be sleeping tonight in the shop because my friends will be checking the voltage meter and will be adjusting the alternator to the correct level.
So to wrap it up, this is such an adventure and I’m very happy and thankful that girlfie is raised in a beautiful family with a thoughtful dAd.
